I was the youngest but always insisted on being the teacher (though my siblings loved to make my job difficult). When I went to university, I had no idea what I wanted to study. I felt lost for three years—what should have been a four-year experience. I initially thought I’d study nutrition and food science because I loved cooking and had studied culinary arts in high school. I became a vegetarian at 14, despite coming from a family that didn’t focus on nutrition or healthy eating.
